Having a freebie to give your audience is important. This is a great way for you to showcase your expertise and give your audience a quick solution to a problem that they have.

But let me guess, you created a freebie to start building your email list but then never emailed them about it again.

Here’s the deal when you are deciding to create a freebie you should start by reverse engineering.

Start with what you want to sell

There is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Take a look at your existing products and offerings and see how they can be broken down into free nuggets of wisdom. Give them a taste without giving away the whole thing.

Provide a simple and quick solution to their problem

Your ideal audience has a problem in their world, right? That is why you offer your services or sell your products. You are providing them with a solution. You know their ticks and quirks and have them figured out. Think about their major issues and provide bite-sized solutions within your freebie to help. This will gain their trust and recognition of your brand.

Make them aware of a bigger problem

While your audience may be aware of the problems they face right in front of them - it is just the tip of the iceberg. You're there to help educate them on the bigger problem which leads to the perfect pitch for you and your offerings.

Prime them for your offer or solution

Your freebie is a warm-up to the bigger offerings and solutions you can provide. It helps open the door for you to gain more leads and sales. Start with the freebies, then get the big bucks.

  • They are overwhelmed at the idea of DIYing their website bc they don’t even know where to start.

  • I’m going to create a freebie that is going to walk them through how to easily create their homepage step by step in just 60 minutes.

  • They download my kick-ass freebie and are now funneled into my email sequence

  • My email sequence educates them even more about their website strategy and design. This in turn makes them realize there is a bigger problem here - they do not know the strategy behind creating a website that converts

  • I then introduce my offer that is going to help them solve that problem. They then head to my website to learn even more about my offer and ensure this is exactly what they need. They make a purchase and BOOM.
